Best one-liners of the week!

Postby rcthebanditqueen » Thu Jul 31, 2014 5:26 pm

So I've been helping out with the summer Vacation Bible School at church this week. So far, here are the champion one-liners:

3. (During discussion time)
Wise Teacher: What are some ways we can turn the other cheek to someone who hurts us?
Small Child: Run away to Mexico!!

2. (Also during discussion time)
Wise Teacher: Somebody name for me an example of a "feeling".
Small Child: *waves arm exuberantly*
Wise Teacher: Yes, Small Child?
Small Child: KARATE!!!!!!!!!

1. (During post-session staff meeting)
*Staff members gossip about...er, discuss parents of their small charges*
Staff Member #1: Oh yeah, so-and-so's uncle works for the funeral home here in town.
Staff Member #2: People are just dying to get in there.

Hope it will give somebody a chuckle. :D

One liners are so memorable - though one liner I can think of was the Titanic; but that's another story.

There's every chance that grandparents might occasionally brag about their grandchildren, so ...
Our daughter tells of being in church with her six-year-old. He was very intrigued with a lady who was waving her arms beside the pulpit, and asked - in a stage whisper - what she was doing.

"She's using sign language so deaf people can know what the worship leader is saying," my daughter whispered - discreetly.

When the singing started, when he saw her continue her signing, he asked even louder, "Why don't they read the words in the screen :?: :?: :?:"

Noel
God has blessed us with a grownup family of four and three grandchildren, so life is full. My weekly newspaper columns seek to encourage unchurched people to explore God's love, so they may discover the difference he can make for them - and through them.
