2014, a great year for writers

Postby Come forth » Tue Dec 31, 2013 3:37 pm

Happy new year everyone!

Being in Australia, we have already had the fireworks, seen the new year in and are off to a running start. As the rest of you try to catch up  we look forward to seeing you enjoy the beginning of a new year.

"Father, bless all members in this wonderful New Year of new opportunities, exciting chances and thrilling new beginnings. Let all the hurts and disappointments of last year be healed as we live in Your grace and mercy -- that is new every morning. Fill us, Daddy, with expectation and may our pens serve You this year. May our stories and testimonies reveal You, may our hearts reflect You and above all, may each and every member draw closer to You this year. Amen"

For those interested in numbers, strictly from a Biblical point of view, 2013 is a total of 6, 2+0+1+3, the number of man. 2014 is a total of seven, 2+0+1+4, the number of rest, completeness and fullness. This can be seen in that the world was complete and Dad rested on the seventh day. My prayer for us all is to come into completeness of healing and life this year and that we may all find rest in Him like we never have before.

Blessings, Graham.

May we all get eyes to see and ears to hear,
A Revelation of His Word, crystal clear.
Admitting our need to be drawn in,
Less of self, more of Him.

My prayer for us all.
God bless us with the Revelation of His Word, Graham

Happy New Year to you too Graham, and a successful writing one too for all FWs, and especially for you mate; although, 2013 saw you come on in leaps and bounds. So happy for you Bro! :D

Thanks Colin and Lillian; didn't think anyone was going to see this for awhile there.

I have an excitement in my spirit about this year and I pray it touches all.

Are you guys being hit with all the bad weather. We have a heat wave going on, but I think both you guys are getting the opposite. Is it flooding near you Col? I pray you both, and all your families, are safe.

Blessings, Graham.

Yes, plenty of flooding around here in the UK. We ourselves live away from flood areas, so not been affected. Some unfortunate people here in the UK have had one flood after another in their homes over the last few years.

Oh, Yeah! Plenty of snow and :brrr weather. Across the Mid-west and even where I am in the Northeast, there have been some record low temperatures. So much for global warming! The thought of a "heat wave" turns me green with envy, Graham.

Blessings,

Lillian

I certainly don't envy your snow and cold, but you wouldn't envy this heat wave either. 48C and 49C have been felt with eggs literally cooking on a shovel left out in the sun.

Only mad dogs and a few Englishmen, the odd writer suffering from heatstroke and wild kangaroos go out in that kind of heat. Airconditioning is our best friend today.

Glad you are all safe.

Blessings, Graham.

Sorry, Graham. Still envious. If I have to endure weather's eccentricities, I'd rather melt than freeze. :D

Blessings,

Lillian

Here in sunny southern California, the weather has been in the 80s a lot. It's been very dry, and we're having our first brushfires of the year, which is more typical of summer than winter. Don't worry, as yet none are near me.

One of the ladies at my church handed out these fliers, and I'd like to share it with you all:

TOP PREDICTIONS FOR 2014

With all the problems the world is facing, it can be unsettling to the mind. Today, we share with you ten predictions that are true!

1. The Bible will still have all the answers.
2. Prayer will still be the most powerful thing on earth.
3. The Holy Spirit will still move.
4. There will still be God-anointed preaching.
5. (Whoops, just noticed this was missing!)
6. There will still be singing of praise to God.
7. God will still pour out His blessings upon His people.
8. There will still be room at the Cross.
9. Jesus will still love you.
10. Jesus will still save the lost when they come to Him.

(If anyone has seen this somewhere else and knows what number 5 is, please let me know!)

Isn't it great to remember Who is really in control, and that "The Word of the Lord endures forever"(I Pet. 1:25).
When we need encouragement, sometimes we need the reminder of just "Who" is really in control.
