My church has been involved with Operation Christmas Child for the last few years, and of course I'm on their mailing list. I don't watch Duck Dynasty--have nothing against it, just don't watch it--but today I got a video from Samaritan's Purse, which does Operation Christmas Child, and it's funny. Uncle Si is one of the Robertson family's older members, and in the video he learns from his nephew what should and should not go into a shoebox gift. Go to http://www.samaritanspurse.org/operatio ... mas-child/
, and under the video heading, there's a subheading titled storylines; under that, click on "Uncle Si". I tried to copy the whole link, but couldn't. Enjoy!
BTW, if your church isn't involved in OCC, talk to your pastor about doing it next year. Information will be on the website. This year, I made a box for a 10-14 year old girl. The hardest is the 2-4 year olds, because there aren't that many things that are safe for a 2 year old that will fit into a standard shoebox. Pray and ask God to guide you in your choice of boy or girl, and what age level, as well as what to put in the box. They do give a list of guidelines on what you can or cannot put into a box.
