For several years, I've had a twin bed. It began to suffer the ravages of moving and storage, until recently I began to suffer from low back pain from sleeping on it. The problem was it had a box spring bottom, meaning I could turn it around to even the wear somewhat, but not flip it over, because then I'd be sleeping on a fabric and board surface.
Recently, my roommate Diane's sister told her she had a relatively new bunk bed, half actually, twin size, that she was giving away. God worked out the arrangements for me to get it from her house to mine. We just had to do it between the end of second service and the beginning of a discipleship class I was in, a period of an hour and a half. A couple from my church who live in the city where Diane's sister lives, and who are familiar with the area, agreed to help. We got back with two minutes to spare, after dropping it off at my place, in my room!
My roommates helped me put it together; it has a nice wooden headboard and footboard, a mattress, and doesn't need a box spring at all. So now my old mattress and box spring are sitting in the driveway by the garbage cans, waiting for a time when we can arrange large item pick up with the trash company. The frame belonged to my roommate C.J.; mine was broken, so she loaned me hers. The frame is now in the back yard. My new bed stands about a foot off the floor, making cleaning under it much easier, hence the title of this thread! Believe me, when I removed my old bed, there was an entire civilization of dust bunnies under it!
Praise God for the way He works!
