Oh dear, I had a tattoo on my arm when I was 16 and like Amy says they fade, you can't read 'Love Mam and Dad' now, but that was the original. I've heard, not to mark the body as being an Old Testament rule, and I suppose I agree,(but not free to point a finger).
God does allot bling to women (at least brides), when describing how he had adorned Israel as his bride; in addition to all kinds of bling that he had use to beautify her with, he also used earrings and nose-rings. (Ezekiel 16:12)
