CD phase out

Postby eaglelion » Wed Dec 26, 2012 2:22 pm

Hi -

I haven't done any extensive research but recently I attempted to purchase a CD for a friend. The selection was one that I'd purchased from Amazon.com for me about a year ago. Well, now on Amazon.com it's only available as an MP3. The CD was no longer offered. I don't know if that means that, for the most part, CD's are phasing out. A retail person told me that CD's are getting to "no longer available" status.

I'm not one who easily accepts such changes. I slightly grieved when they phased out cassettes and grudgingly accepted CD'S. Well, I came to accept CD's...and now...

Lord, please help me to progress with these inevitable changes in technology...

Thank You, Lord - Amen.

I have a pair of battery powered candles I use as part of my nativity scene, and one of the bulbs burned out. I'm having a bear of a time finding replacements for them as well. I too hate it when technological changes are forced on us. I still have cassettes and CDs; it's going to be awhile before I change over to MP3s. Have you tried places like Overstock.com?

It seems to me like CDs are indeed being phased out. I prefer them too (and remember the "good old days" of tapes too! lol) Most of what I buy these days is on mp3, but I usually burn a physical copy onto cd just as a backup. Call me old fashioned, but that's just how I am. Sad to see the passing of cds.
