The sad part though is that woman even said that if that day comes and goes and she is still on this earth than she wasn't really saved. How sad is that?! She rather believe that the "Rapture" is going to come on that day no matter what and her salvation will be Dependant on that. That in and of itself made me sad.

The lies of the devil shall be such that even the elect shall be drawn away... how much more those who have no true knowledge in their heart, but only seek after Another's understanding.

All we can do is keep praying for people such as this.

Oh, and I thought of another funny story. During a break in class today the Deaf student approached the teacher, presumably to ask a question, so I scurried up to interpret. But for a minute they both just stood there and looked expectantly at me. I'm thinking, Sorry, people, I'm a communication facilitator, not a mind reader. In order for me to do anything here, someone's gonna have to start, you know, communicating! Finally the student started signing.

Something I find funny is the names of the bible, so many sound and are spelled alike that you like, "how do you say that?" and, "Did i just say that?" lol plus they name each other after each other. I mean from Adam to Noah there was two Enoch's and two Lamech's and then there was and Enosh, so confusingly lose, like Mehujael and his son Methusael. and then the second Lamech's sons Jabal, Jubal and Tubal-cain...all just super confusing. lol just I like Lamec one wife's name Zillah....I'm thinking of doing all Z names with my kids...so this is one added to the maybe list. lol

I have always wondered about that as well. MAkes it look like he married his sister, which was a weeee bit odd to me. I always felt the Lord had made more than just Adam in the beginning, as the passage that states, "male and female HE made them." (have to look up the actual passage later as I am at work.)

Doing so HE had made many and yet chose Adam to place in the Garden, keeping him and his children separate for a greater blessing. True there is nothing except that one verse to point to that soooo...

Meself I would rather think on that than the fact that in the beginning incest was ok with God. Just my oppenion mind you, and I don't count much.

Oh, one funny... when I read yesterday's verses in Matthew re the wise men etc... it reminded me of the Christmas program one year at the Christian school where I taught. We wanted to be more accurate and have the wise men come to visit the child Jesus at a house, as the scripture indicates (instead of the baby in the manger as is often depicted). There was an adorable little almost 2 year old son of a lady in church who was going to play the child Jesus. He did really well in the practices...but we had never practiced having him come out in the dark between scenes as happened for the actual performance. So, between scenes everyone heard the little guy yelling "No, No...I don't want to". Well, the girl who was playing Mary knew the lights would be coming on soon and didn't want to be without some one / thing representing Jesus so she grabbed a doll. ...A ventriloquist's doll.

The lights wend up and she sat holding the "child Jesus" who looked remarkably like Mortimer Snerd. Everyone cracked up. It was so funny!

Does anyone know why Noah's nakedness (inside his own tent) was such a big deal? I assume that either "nakedness" as noted at that time meant something more than "just" that, or else it was a cultural thing. In our culture a son seeing his father without clothing would certainly not be worthy of a curse to his son! Anyway, that's one of those things I've wondered about each time I've read it.

WELL... I suppose we could call my "Jury Duty" a blessing in disguise.

My dad found out that if I write a letter along with my Jury Duty application that they might be able to postpone it for 2 or 3 months, (MAYBE and I put huge stress on MAYBE... longer). Which means I have to get a new permit since mine expired, I'm taking Drivers ed in March and I have to get the 60 hours of driving experience and then my license. I think what we're hoping for is that my Jury Duty will be postponed long enough for me to actually get my license so I won't have to rely on someone else to get me there.



so now i'm like, yay but also nervous and overwhelmed.

Garfield...thinking about you and praying and wondering how yesterday went. I'm assuming not great with everyone acting up and quitting, etc...There's nothing worse than dealing with work problems when you're the one who has to 'take care of them'...so hang in there and remember what I said...our enemy is 'attempting' to rob you of your joy, so don't let him!

Amykins....Yes, did my class with Mr. High Strung...I think he's feeling a little scared because he's working overtime giving me compliments on my work...however....I just posted a question which just might get him bouncing off the walls again, so we'll see. Most teachers (if not all) post all of the weekly assignments the day before the week starts because that's what online schooling is all about...working at your own pace, BUT....he's posting day by day which is a total bummer and cumbersome and controlling in my eyes....but my question was short and nice, so I'll let you know what happens.

Ah, thanks, Tiara. And Pup, yes, they would have had to marry siblings. Back then the bloodlines were more pure, so it wouldn't have created the cross-marrying defects that can happen now. It was quite common for cousins to marry until more recently, and that early in history with so few people, there really wasn't any other choice than to marry family.

I think the "them" in "he made them" just is plural because there were two of them: Adam and Eve. That would be grammatically correct even if there were just two.


Becky, that's exciting you'll be getting your licence soon. I know driving is scary at first, but it'll get easier and the test isn't that bad. The test here in Washington is one of the hardest, and I passed okay, so I know you'll do fine. And if you get nerves and have to take it more than once then that's okay, too.

I'm actually really a good parallel parker. Really, I am. I have to do it all the time, so that keeps me in practice. But on the test I got nervous and had to jimmy around something awful, and I think I failed that part and backing around a corner (which I've never been good at) but I still passed the test.

Holly, how frustrating that you can't work ahead in the class. Hope he responds well to your email. Glad that other than that things are going okay.

I'm suppose to start work at that other church tomorrow but haven't heard back from the pastor again. We were suppose to meet to talk about the job so I could ask questions I had and he could talk to me.... At least I have other paid work so it wouldn't be the end of the world if that fell through, but would be nice to keep it.

Oh, I forgot to tell a funny story on myself, at risk of ya'll realizing how much of an airhead I can be sometimes.

So after work I went to the restroom. I walked in past a guy at the sink and a row of urinals and was looking for seat covers before it FINALLY sunk in that I'd just walked past a man and urinals. I went rushing back out and mumbled "sorry" to the poor guy, but he just laughed.

It was worth it Amy! It gave me my giggle for the day!

Oh and I know that if you fail on one part of the test you fail the whole test entirely. My brother had to take it twice. One of my friends had to take it more than 3 times before she passed.

but I get nervous and freaked with "new stuff" anyway.

I heard back from the pastor (he'd been out of town) and I'll start that job next week instead of this week, which means tomorrow won't be such a busy day with interpreting, so that's good.
