Everything going on in Ferguson, MO is right by where I work. One of my offices is three miles from the QT that was set on fire. While I personally don't feel in danger, there is just a feeling of unrest. It's crazy.
I wrote something the other night about it, just to give a bit of perspective that the news media is not going to give you, that may give insight into why things are so bad.
It was written, in part, as a response to a Christian blogger who was/is apparently blaming the whole thing on the "black community" destroying the "black community." I refused to read the actual blog, as I figured it wouldn't be good for my health.
On another forum I'm a member of, we were all pretty much in agreement that this blogger wasn't quite right. I'm not naming the name of the blogger, and if you know who I'm talking about and like him, I apologize.
I was going to post what I wrote here, but seeing as this is a public forum, I'd rather not post it here. Not that it's all that controversial, I'd just rather that someone not find this somehow and bring me into this whole thing. If you'd like to read things from the perspective of someone who lives here, I'd be happy to send it to you via e-mail or private message. And if you really, really want me to post it here, I will.
If nothing else, please be in prayer for the entire St. Louis area.
