It is indeed. Well at least I forgive you Pup

Actually I'm so mad and frustrated/hurt with too many other people, namely family, namely in-laws. I am currently super regretting visiting the states this summer because its been nothing but drama and stress, and to me its just not worth it. :(

Nah, Pup, ya didn't scare me; I was in the background being a wallflower.

Kara, I hope you find moments of solace on your trip to the States amongst chaos. BTW you have a Scrabble move on FB.

I discovered FW's official blog - a great interview with Philip Yancey.

My sis's wedding song is almost done. My music helper asked me to print out the sheet music, so he's working things out on the piano, adding chords.

Most peeps see me working and can't believe I have a bad back, BUT.. just because I have grown to live with it doesn't mean it still don't hurt like crazy. Can't sit for too long, laying down sometime even makes it seem worse, walking helps a little but sometime stepping down wrong is a killer.

True I could have surgery and fuse my spine with steal rods, but that is no guarantee the pain will stop.

I know, I already have so much chronic pain that it's hard to add another place, but oh well. And my overall pain had been less severe but it's been worse all over lately. Sorry yours has been, too, Pup.

I think I'm gonna skip church tomorrow, since I don't have to interpret. Will just stay home to rest. And of course there's the healKick Bible study at 1:00 PM, so I can't sleep quite all day.

Shann mentioned surgery to me a couple times, but like you said, half the time (or more) back surgery doesn't help or even makes things worse.

Becky, glad you got the iPad! :)

Kara, so sorry. :( Maybe things will calm down by the time you get here. Hopefully much sooner, even.

Today my grandparents came over to celebrate Dad and Grandpa's birthdays. It was a very nice time. :) Then I took a nap and then finished the last book of the Hunger Games and finished the shawl I was crocheting. Took me about two weeks, I think?

As for The Hunger Games, the first book was definitely my favorite and the last was the hardest to read. I bawled through the last few chapters. But I'm not sorry I read them.

I watched Hunger Games the other day, found it hard to follow for the most, but a good movie. Maybe when I hear it in English it will seem better.

I got the iPod touch Amy, not the iPad. iPad is WAY to expensive.

As for the Hunger Games. I read through the whole first book in 4 days or so and now I'm reluctant to read the others because I don't want to read sad stuff.

oh well. lol

My kids said it would be hard to follow the movie if you haven't read the books, like Harry Potter. I love that Amy can loan me her ebooks. In fact I just borrowed the third and should be reading it instead of playing games on PC that I keep losing cuz Becky wipes the floor with me in scrabble. I even have gotten bonus words and still loose. Amy and Jay and Tim and Kara all beat me too!

tonguethaid wrote:Oh no Becky your poor kitties :( Hope you can find the culprit and get them to stop.

I can understand how you guys may get tired of people saying things about your health. At the same time I can understand- like for me, I have mentioned before that I just dont know what to say, but there are moments that you need to say something so I end up just saying words like "i hope you feel better soon". I truly feel empathy and really want to say something encouraging but words just seem so meh. On the other hand not saying anything seems a bit insensitive.

Perhaps we should come up with code words, so we aren't just repeating the same old thing, but you will know we are praying and thinking about you and hoping you get over whatever obstacle you are dealing with...such as, we refer to my niece's illness as the Dragon, and as long as the Dragon sleeps she is good. So we will tell her we are praying for her Dragon to sleep and for the little White Soldiers to get stronger so they can keep him asleep.

I like the idea for your niece. It's sweet. Just plain Hugs works for me. It's such a simple way to type (or if you're there in person to give) and a lot of love goes into a hug.

For example, I'm so sorry that you are nervous already about coming to the states this summer. HUGS (You could just come see me and we could do a road trip to see Patty, then pick up Becky and then meet Amy when she goes to see the specialist out here on the East Coast. :)

Sorry I don't have the energy to comment on everyone. I've been proofing quite a few challenge stories for people which I absolutely love doing. It gives me a warm happy feeling to see their writing improve and move up the levels. However once they past me and get into Masters I feel like they should be helping me. :D But it's a nice feeling. Amy also passed a paying editing job my way and it looks like I might have another one on a regular basis so that does my heart good. Even if it's only a little bit, it helps me feel like I can contribute.

Hey did I tell yoiu all that I've been worried about the money for Q to go to Seminary (He is waiting and praying to get an acceptance at Duke in NC but if not he will go to Wesley in DC) and Lyd to go to college. Well after all of the figuring and financial aid and scholarships, we were still roughly about $5000 short. I just didn't know how we were going to do it, so I called the college and told them about my health problems and the guy was sweet he said he'd look into it and get back to me. Even though he was nice, I wasn't holding my breath for more than just a few hundred. Well he got back like the Monday after I asked on Thursday evening. you'll never guess how much more they offered to give Lyd? Any guesses??? You got it exactly what we need $5000 and most of her $38,000 per year is scholarships and grants. She won't have to have huge student loans. Plus since she has been taking college classes and AP classes she will be most likely able to enter as a second semester sophomore or a first semester junior.

My kids reminded me of my lesson for the day (well really for most of my life) If God is calling you to do or be somewhere He will provide, so knock off the worrying Mom!

Well, I'm going to check and see by how much Becky is beating me at Scrabble then going to lay down. Hugs to ya all :D

That is so awesome Shann! Its super cool to see how God provides for our needs (and sometimes even wants) And I wouldnt say I'm beating you cause the winner keeps going back and forth, depending on who's turn it is! Amy practically slaughtered me in our game though... Although I had this awesome moment where I played a word for 108 points, not with Amy, with someone else, but usually I only score in the 20's so I got super excited.

Anyhow thanks for the encouragements. It really is nice to have you all to vent to. Basically the first thought I had this morning was how I just need to give it all to God and let it go. Easier said then done of course.

So I keep starting to write challenges and then its friday morning before I realized I missed the due date. sort of bums me out and I feel kinda silly for missing the time frame. Hopefully I can get one in this week!

Amy so glad you finished! I have zero self-control so I ended up reading all three books in about 4 days, didnt get much else done however. I think I do really like them- I keep going back and forth, but it is such a heavy-hearted read. I just want to read something happy and sweet afterwards, so I read this book my Grandma gave me, which was NOT. I have a feeling my Grandma hadnt ever read the book cause it was awful. Now I am reading Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy- it really hits the spot for fun and lighthearted (and amazing  )

Happy birthday, dear Becky! So glad you we are friends. :) What are you doing today?

Kara, 108 points for one word?? Wow. I've never gotten that high. Good job! :) A bunch of us here are in a Scrabble tournament that I started. It's fun. I haven't read Hitchhiker's yet, but I keep meaning to. It's good?

Becky, oh, iPod touch, okay. What's that like? Is it about the size of a phone?

Shann, that's so cool when God does that. I love when He's so exact about amounts, too. It shows He's really paying attention.

My pain has still been kinda high all over my back, so today I stayed home from church and spent the whole day in bed. My cat loved that. :p Not sure how much it helped my pain, since I'm still hurting, but hopefully it'll help my fatigue a tiny bit. I'm hoping I'll be able to sleep tonight even though I dozed all day. I haven't done anything on Reaching Sky for two days now. :?

Tomorrow I'm meeting one of my Deaf friends at a craft store to pick out yarn and then I'm going to teach her how to make a prayer shawl. I think I mentioned that already, huh. I finished the shawl I was making for my mom's friend. I'll take a picture tomorrow.

Birthday??? You mean Re-Becky is growing up? :heehee

Hey Bird? Maybe being in bed most of the day is causing the pain to be worse....

I feel that way at times, I need a new matress for my bed. I have had the same one now for almost ten years and it was used when I got it. Maybe a new one would help my back.....?

Oh well, I got the keys for the new apartment yesterday, SO now I have all the moving to do. At least it is only a few hundred feet from where I live now. It will still be rough though.

Anyone want to help?
