Na... I just stopped by and figured I should at least leave a note that I was there. Lurking in the background, but not afraid to come out and say BOO!! :sofa

Hey guys sorry it's been a bit. Things have been rough here. Thought I was going to have to go to hospital yesterday when my BP was 240/138. Scary, but after some rest, it went down. Still high, but not scary high.

What a difference a sleeping surface makes! After we put our stuff in storage--including my bed-- I had to sleep on the floor, with 3 dog beds under me; very lumpy, and they kept sliding apart. Then after the dog beds went into storage, I was sleeping on 3 couch cushions--smoother, but still slid apart. Yesterday morning my roomie Cindy suggested we get the daybed from the front room and so we did. I slept on that last night, and I feel great! Now, if I could just get rid of this cold....

Colds and high blood preasure, not a good way to enjoy the Spring time. We have had nice weather this passed week, great for riding around. Although it is now calling for more rain this weekend, it looks more the partly cloudy. I just hope the winds don't start up.

Not sure on this weeks topic.... isn't Zenith a television set????? But I don't watch TV.

Yes, Zenith is a brand of TV that goes quite a ways back. But it also means the highest point, straight overhead. Likely that is the theme of this week's topic.

Copied from the Challenge thread.
JesusPuppy wrote:“Unattainable Heights” Ziggy style.

I don’t get it.

Oh, come on. It's art at it’s finest. Man’s own realism in form, function, and literalism, with a dash of esoteric satire thrown in for good measure. :D

But what does 28 T.V. sets stacked in a triangle, have to do with “Unattainable Heights.”

That's perfection in form, seven per side in a perfect triangle. 8)

I’d hate to ask what the literalism part is. :?

That’s the ironic satire as well. 8)

Okay, explain it again. What’s with the television sets. :|

All the lower ones are Sony’s, right? :)

Yeah, so? :?

The one on the very top, is a Zenith. :D

Darn, it needs another 50 words. Good joke though.

A couple of years ago, I ran across a Sea Island Pidgin Bible and shared some quotes from it. This week I saw a plaque in the office at church; it's the Ten Commandments in Hawaiian style pidgin.

1.) God is numbah one--no ka oe
2.) Bettah not make any kine statues la dat, bumbye God get jealous
3.) No pilau kine talk, no sweah wit God's name
4.) Pau work befoa da Sabbat'--Sunday, no do notten
5.) Leesen to yoa maddah and faddah, garenz you leev long time
6.) No ma ke nobody
7.) No act hammajang and mess around on yoa addah half
8.) No cockaroach notten
9.) No talk any kine lies, brah!
10.) No be jealous of one naddah person's stuffs, ah!

Well, so far, still no deputy at the door serving us a writ of possession on our place. Last fall our landlady tried to evict us, but never went through with it. I think she's scared of us.

I was thinking, though--my pastor had a goal of buying a complex of fourplexes that is east of our church; I recently asked him how that was going and he said he made a very good offer but was turned down. My thought was, maybe the church could buy our house. We could go back to being female-only, have rules again, and get back to normal. Of course the plumbing and other issues would have to be addressed, but with God's help I believe it could work. After all, every major ministry I've heard of started small. Mercy House, for example, started when the Sisters of St. Joseph found they had a few spare bedrooms in their mother house, so they rented them to homeless women, and now Mercy house has several houses which they have bought and repurposed into transitional housing for the homeless and needy. I plan to run this past CJ and Diane this week, then run it past Pastor Brian. We'll see.

Isn't that what writers do all the time? Play with words.?

Well starting on the 10th, I start getting 5 whole days of work per week. The other mid shift guy is finally leaving, so no more 4days off a week. And YES this is a good thing.

The only bad part is that the other guy they are getting to work mid-shift can only work Mondays and Tuesdays, so I still have to work Sunday mornings. :(

Scratch that... and I knew it would happen, again. He worked two days with some other guy and was fired... BUT, was still able get his job back here. Sorry, the higher-ups at this company are not so bright. Well, I should feel blessed I have a job, and they are giving me four days a week now, and him only three. At least for now, he starts complaining to the company..... :?

And I still have to work Sundays. If work weren't so hard to come by.
