Been lurking lately.
Wishing a late happy birthday to Laurie!
We have been busy here. The kids are coming! They will be here Wednesday evening, and will be staying until Saturday.
There is one development that I am struggling with. They have chosen to stay at my brother's farm, instead of here. Okay, I am very excited they will be in town and we get to see them, VERY bummed they prefer staying at the farm. It's about 30 minutes from our house, and will make it difficult to spend time with them, since Bill will have the car. I am hoping they are planning to come into town during the day.
Please pray for me to have the right attitude about this!We have been getting the house ready for their visit. We even have a guest room ready. Just in case! One of the reasons they gave is that our AC doesn't cool the house. In the 110 temps we were feeling lucky if the house cooled to 90. Well, this week we are have a COLD FRONT
The temps have dropped all the way down to.........90! And the AC is cooling the house very nicely! Night temps are actually dropping to the 60's. Supposed to be this way all week.
On to a fun topic. Attended a birthday bash yesterday. Becky holds these outrageous parties every year. To celebrate life! One year it was Prom Night. Everybody dressed in prom dresses. Last year it was Karaoke night, and the required dress was mumus.
Yesterday it was Finding the Pink. We all had to dress in the most outrageous pink outfits we could. We then divided up into teams and did a scavenger hunt. Had to do things like get photos of: us with someone in uniform, finding the letters P, I, N, & K from signs, with pink lettering. There were 20 silly, crazy things we had to photo and had two hours to get it down.
Then we all gathered back at her house to eat PINK food. veggie tray with pink dip, pink cakes, pink cheese to top our chips, pink deviled eggs (they were dipped in beet juice to dye them), drank pink punch. Laughed so hard I was afraid my bladder was going to lose total control. there were 35 of us! Several teams went to the nearest Wallmart to do several of the photos. Wonder what the clerks thought, being inundated with all of these weirdly dressed ladies giggling like school girls.
