I'm not as nice as Laurie. DeeJay, the title of the thread is Ask a question. You forgot to ask again!

Sorry. Getting old sucks. Just saw the doctor from the UCI medivan this morning about this lingering cold, they said I'm okay and keep using the OTC stuff to control symptoms.

So, do you like going to the doctor or not, and why?

I hate going to the doctor. You'd think with all my hospitalizations and stuff I'd be used to it. Usually a new doctor says one of two things: It's not possible to have what you have or I know how to cure you! Then in 6 weeks when nothing happens they dump me.

What is the sickest you've ever been and how did you cope and get better (if you did)?

Gall bladder stones/inflammation. I coped by having my gall bladder removed--what a relief!

Internet or music? That's easy. I lived without internet for...let's just say a long, long time. But music is a part of who I am. I often sing while feeding the dogs in the kennel, and sometimes I play music in my head to get to just relax or to fall asleep.

What is your favorite genre of music?

I don't have one favorite. My Pandora account has a multiple personality lol.
I love country music, Classical music, Big Band, Christian rock (but some of Contemporary Christian music gets monotonous), and Musicals.

I think I asked this before, but if you could learn to play any musical instrument, what would it be?

I would probably choose the harp. So very impractical - but I LOVE the idea of making that beautiful music with my own hands (and the harp's strings).

Assuming they were of equal intensity/discomfort, would you rather have a headache or a stomachache?

Definitely headache. Just easier to ignore, I think.

A 3-parter:

In your adult life, what's the longest you've gone without...

Food?
Sleep?
Showering or bathing?

Feel free to share the circumstances, too.

Food - I wasn't allowed to eat before any of my c-sections, so I wasn't allowed to eat past like 11:00 before Josh's. Due to someone forgetting to schedule my c-section as early as expected, I didn't leave for the hospital until like 11:00. I was STARVING. My family is all eating breakfast before Frank took me to the hospital.

Sleep - about 20 hours, on the nights I don't get more than 2 hours of sleep.

Showering/bathing - a week. When I was a kid, I was too embarrassed to shower at church camp, so I avoided it for the whole week lol.

No--I have a phobia of bugs. Also, I can buy beans at the grocery store, without getting my hands dirty.

Georgina Kajanick (I think I spelled that right). She was a girl I went to school with, she went by George.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

(Eileen mentioned the other day she would pick salad because you can put anything in a salad lol).

Tah! I'm insulted.  Shann Hall-LochmannVanBennekom is definitely weird (although we've never met face-to-face. So I won't dwell (for the record, S Shann is not short for Shannon and Hall is maiden name, but LochmannVanBennekom is Dutch meaning lake man from the town of Bennekom in The Netherlands.
As for food, I eat one kind for months. Right now I'm on a bagel with PB and Raspberry preserves kick, so that would be my answer now.

What does your name mean, does it fit your personality, and would you change it if you could (and to what?)

Shari - Princess, open plain (derived from Sarah, based on some sites)
Lynn - a cascade

Not sure if it really fits me or not. I don't know that I'd change it. Kind of attached to it now lol.

From the Yuck or Yum thread.... that I got confused about where I was... lol.

Is there something you enjoy doing, but are really bad at it, but you do it anyway because you just love it. Example, I use to play softball the summers after 5th - 8th grade. I was the weakest player on the team, but I had a lot of fun playing.

Writing. Sometimes I think I might be a little bit good at it, but then I read something by someone who's the real deal, and I re-evaluate.
