What are the Rating Categories for the Writing Challenge?

Post by Deb Porter »

It is very helpful for Challenge entrants to know what the judges are looking for when they read and rate entries. There are eight very specific rating categories, and each entry is rated on how well it works in each of these aspects.

For detailed information regarding the eight ratings categories used by the judges, please read this post in the Rules and Ratings forum:

As part of our new push to see more members join a Challenge Buddy/Critique group, and also to encourage more people to leave helpful feedback on Challenge entries, we are now offering copies of the judging rating sheet to active Challenge participants.

Using these sheets will help members to pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses of entries they are reading, and also help develop their ability to critique (which will also be of benefit to their own writing).

In order to use these sheets, members will need to have either Excel or Open Office on their computers. Please send me a private message if you would like to receive a copy of the judging rating sheet.
