God at Work

Postby deejay » Sat Nov 17, 2012 5:41 pm

Yesterday at work, I checked my mailbox and found an invitation to our church's annual Volunteer Appreciation Day dinner. I'm allowed to bring a guest, though Narrah, our administrator, says with sufficient notice--RSVP Nov. 30--I can bring more than one guest. My church has provided us with a turkey and fixings for Thanksgiving, as we are planning to have several guests at home for our first-ever T-Day at home. Well, when I got to a point in my work where I could stop and tell C.J. and Diane the news, all of a sudden they were very interested in going to the dinner; when they told Becky, she also wants to go, and not only that, they all want to volunteer at my church, and attend as well! And Becky at least was brought up Catholic; I don't know about C.J. and Diane, but God is no respecter of persons, right? There is, after all, one God. I don't know if Kristina has been told about it yet, so if she's home, I'll see if she also wants to attend. Over the past year, C.J. and Diane have seen God at work in me, and that made the difference. C.J. and Diane had been talking about going back to their old church, but they decided to come to mine.

CAN I HEAR A HALLELUJAH , LORD?
CAN I GET A WITNESS HERE?

I love to write. Nothing escapes the crush I have on the written word. I'm hooked on words!!

i'VE SAID ALL ALONG THE BEST TESTIMONY IS FOR OTHERS TO SEE THE CHRIST IN US AND WANT WHAT WE HAVE! GOD IS GREAT! :thumbs
God Bless the beasts and the children
Give them shelter from the storms.
Children are our tomorrow
Keep them daily from the sorrow
Of the beasts in life

Last night I asked roomie Kristina if she was interested in going to the VA dinner, and she said it sounded interesting. Let's pray for a grand sweep! Cookie's unlikely to attend, because I've been told she might be in the hospital around that time. Someone will be at home with her, of course.

Belated update: I was restricted to two guests, so I took C.J. and Diane. They were quite impressed with my church, got a new cage for their pet rat Chestnut--who needed a bigger one, even though it's a parakeet cage, but it works beautifully--from our Life Center, and enjoyed dinner. Ever since, C.J. and Diane have been trying to improve themselves--C.J. has succeeded at last in quitting smoking, and Diane is working on quitting drinking. Continue to pray for her success, as well as for C.J. to stop drinking.
Also, please continue in prayer for Becky, concerning her being able to see her grandkids, and to stop talking smack about C.J. and Diane behind their backs.
