Political Discussions

Although it has been suggested by some that we should ban all discussion regarding politics on the FaithWriters' Message Boards (due to the very real potential for division amongst brothers and sisters in Christ), it is felt that such a radical ban would not be appropriate for a writers' site.

As writers, we should have the ability to communicate our thoughts and opinions in a way that is effective, clear and respectful.

As such, polite and respectful political discussion is welcome within the appropriate "Neighborhood." In other words, US politics should be kept to the USA Neighborhood, Australian politics in the Australia/New Zealand Neighborhood, etc. Of course, as with all our "Neighborhoods," all members are welcome to visit any of them.

Please ensure that all political discussions are confined to issues and policies, without becoming attacks against specific personalities. At no time should there be derogatory or disrespectful discussion regarding the politicians themselves. Such posts will be removed without notification.

This rule has not been made without much consideration, and in reality is only reinforcing the long-standing rule to be respectful in all our discussions here on the boards.

May our conversation always be full of grace, seasoned with salt.

With love,

Deb
