Greetings from East Texas!

Hey everyone! I heard about this site from someone in my critique group, and thought I would check it out. Always good to connect with other writers and see what people are working on. Good to be here. Now to explore and figure out the ropes... :)

Greetings, and welcome to FW. Feel free to run around and have fun, while you learn. Any questions you may have, just ask.

Thanks! I think the only question I have at the moment is how to add an avatar for use here in the forums. I added one to my profile, and just assumed it would be used here too, but it looks like it isn't showing up at all.

Up towards the top of this page, just above the subject of the post, "Grettings from East Texas", you should see... "User Control Panel" (new messages) then, "View your posts"... Click the control panel link, it will take you to your set-up page. There, you will see tabs for; Overview, Profile, Board Preferences, Privet Messenger... etc. Click the "Profile" tab.

To the left side of that screen you will see the edits... profile, signature, avatar... click the avatar one and it will give you the set-up page for the avatar. you can add one from your computer or from an online site. Keep in mind it has to be the right size, 80x80 pixels, or it may not work right.

Keep in mind also, the profile on the Boards is not the same as the Writers Profile on the main FW site, so, you might want to set things up for this one as well. Name, Email, location... fust follow the walk through on each file tab of the profile edit page, and you will do fine.

Thank you Jesus puppy! I will definitely start tweaking that today. Looking forward to being more involved with these forums. I really enjoy networking with other writers and getting to know them. Have a great weekend! :) :thankssign

Hi and welcome to FW! It's really an amazing site. God led me here after many prayers in 2010. It's been a wonderful part of my daily routine ever since then.

The most popular thing here is the weekly challenge. It has helped me become a better writer.Writing on topic has sparked my imagination and forced me to think outside of the box. The deadline is a good motivator to write on a regular basis while the word limit has helped me tighten up my sentences.

There are blogging contest each month too. Some of these activities are open to all members while others only to Gold or Platinum members. If you can afford the few dollars each month, it is so worth it to upgrade from a Silver membership.

The message boards have introduced me to people all over the world. I've become good friends with people I never would have met had it not been for FW.

Don't hesitate to jump into any conversations that interest you. Also if you have any questions, there is usually someone around who can answer them or point you in the right direction. I see you have already met the lovable Pup (JesusPuppy) He's been around for a long time and is just one of the many wonderful people here. I look forward to reading some of your work. If you post them on FW leave a link here or in the open forum so people can find them easily. :welcome

Thanks Shann!

Can't afford the paid membership at the moment unfortunately, but maybe someday I'll be able to. I'm looking forward to being involved though. I've already had one or two good conversations with people through this.

Here's a link to one of my blog posts, if you want to check it out:

I've been a bit lazy about blogging lately but planning on getting back up to speed with it soon, hopefully. Also working on an e-book. Feel free to let me know what you think of my blog, as I always welcome input! :D

Hello East Texas
I am new at this and I am trying to write about how to find and prove the real birth month of Jesus from within the bible. I've documents ready made to be sent out to see how people would react to the information provided. Well if you have any advice I surr could use it.

Welcome to FF jimmyjames. You may want to post your request in the Open Forum ad you are more likely to find people who can answer your questions there. Good luck
