Problem Entry Notification

Shann, I can't see the point in PMing someone back when their email should be included with their PM. To PM them back, you would have to find them as a member, then send them a message. I've never understood why people would do that. I just send them an email.

However, if someone did PM someone back, and that member wasn't a Platinum or Gold, then you're right. They wouldn't get it.

The PM system was just created to provide a safe way to make first contact (in other words, so your email address wasn't made public on the internet).

Well, what I was thinking if someone read a challenge entry and commented and the author wanted to say thank you so they click on the person's name and it takes them to the profile page and gives them a chance to select send this person a personal message. Like when I comment on someone's story and they click my name, there isn't any way to get my email and if I weren't a 500 member, I wouldn't be able to view a PM Did I just make that as about as clear as mud?

I see what you mean. Well, unfortunately, there's not much can be done about that. Sometimes it's nicer to leave a reciprocal comment on their article. But I do understand what you mean.

That's a good idea Deb because if you click on their name and see they haven't entered the challenge ever or in a while, then you could go to one of their open submissions to leave a comment on their piece. Thanks for the idea

I don't know the answer to your question, Shann, but I do want to put my two cents worth in here and thank Deb for the great job she has always done. She indeed does go above and beyond! So, from me and I'm sure a lot of my co-authors... from one you've helped often. Blessings to you...

Deb answered my question and even gave me a helpful hint I too am so grateful for Deb. I know her job is a difficult one but I also know she loves us (most of the time ) so that is why she works so hard even though she may not get all the kudos she deserves. (Insert granola bar humor here) So I join in and wish to thank Deb too for always being here and for taking such good care of us!

I tried to preview my cut-and-pasted post to the weekly contest yesterday around 2 pm. The screen froze after the preview button had a blue glow around it. Could you please let me know whether you somehow received my weekly challenge entry entitled (Title edited out by Mod - please PM Deb your title )

It's about 5 am Arizona time now.

Also, how do I change the time calibrator? My times say p.m. instead of a.m.

Nancy, I'll send you an email, but your entry needs to be re-submitted.

If that ever happens, don't hesitate to submit it again. It's not a problem if it comes through twice, as we'll just pull the double if that happens.

So if your computer freezes up or you hit submit and don't get the Success page, you need to submit again.

I thought silver members could now enter the challenge once a month or something like that.

We decided to make it a bit easier for people to get a taste of the Challenge than having to wait for that one week every quarter. So from the start of the year, all Silver members will receive a one off allocation of four Challenge credits. They will be able to use these credits to enter four Challenges of their choosing at any time.

Once the credits run out, then they will need to upgrade their account to enter the Challenge.
