Wk 2 Topic - GET COLD FEET

Postby Deb Porter » Thu Oct 12, 2017 2:53 pm

Brrr. Do you feel that first hint of chilly air? Might be time to put on the socks (unless you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, where we are starting to take our socks off!). Whether you have socks on or socks off, don’t let nerves stop you from entering the Challenge this week. Our Week 2 topic is:

GET COLD FEET
http://www.faithwriters.com/writing-challenge-intro.php

Of course, this is not really about having frosty toes (although you can take it literally if you want to do so). This saying is something that many of us have probably experienced at some time or other. We’re all excited to do something special, and then we get scared and back out.

GET COLD FEET

It often relates to someone getting married, but it can also be a person who is about to perform in some way. It is, basically, to change your mind about something due to nerves. I suspect many a Challengeer has missed entering due to cold feet.

As always, you can write in any genre or style, and you can do with the topic whatever your heart desires. The important thing is to make sure the topic (GET COLD FEET) is the CENTRAL focus of your entry.

Also, make sure your entry conforms to the rules.

Don't forget to check your word count before submitting (entries must be between 150 and 750 words). A very reliable and free online word count check tool is this one:

http://www.wordcountertool.com/

PLEASE, always hit the preview button to check your entry before hitting the final submit button. This is the only way to make sure your entry is uploaded correctly. This is very important, particularly if you are using HTML code for the first time. Once you have previewed your entry, close the preview page and hit the submit button.

Finally, once submitted, do a check to make sure your entry is safely in the list:

Now, we don’t want any cold feet when it comes to entering the Challenge this week. No chickening out at the last minute. So warm up those tootsies and jump right in.

Love, Deb

One can still get cold feet and go through with the event/plan, etc. anyway, right? It just seems from the definition that you can't, but I know that people get cold feet and keep going.
Blessings,
Rachel

And that's more than fine. They can get cold feet, and then push through. I think we've had at least one entry this week that has that angle. So no problem at all, as long as they first get cold feet.

Great! :thankssign I've got a story ready. It's not my best, but it's good to be writing again. :)
