You know those times when you've tried absolutely everything you can think of, but it's not working? (Think computers, kids, recipes, novel writing, etc.) Well, that's when you've reached this week's topic:AT WIT'S ENDhttp://www.faithwriters.com/writing-challenge-intro.php
Been there? Done that? Bought the T-shirt? Then this topic is for you.
As always this quarter, do with the topic whatever you desire, as long as the main focus of your entry relates to someone being "At Wit's End" in some way.
You can go with the literal meaning:
1. at the limits of one's mental resources. I'm stumped. I can't think of a single thing to write about for this week's Challenge. Why does that Deb Porter do this to me?
(Feel your pain, guys. Why do you think I coordinate instead of enter?)
2. so upset with a situation that you don't know what to do.
Interestingly enough, the saying has a a Biblical origin:
Psalms 107:27 (King James Version): They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.
(Leave you to look it up for the context.)
Or you can be extra creative and play around with the words. It's up to you. Just make it obvious that it is mainly about the topic in some way.
Have fun, and feel free to chat about the topic here.
