Idolatry comes down to one thing, Covetousness
Three of the Ten Commandments, cover this for Us
But what are some examples, to show YOU what I mean
Perhaps I can show YOU, what I’ve learned, and what I’ve seen

Materialism or storing up stuff that won’t last
Didn’t Jesus tell Us, to put those things into Our Past
To store up Treasures in Heaven, Our Eternal Home
The place We look forward to, Forever to roam

Pride, Our Ego looking for success and attention
As if any Man or Woman, could care less if it’s done
When We crave attention, acknowledgement from Man
Who will always let Us down, because it’s not God’s Plan

We listen to Mankind and his theories of Evolution
He tries to take credit, for what only God could have done
Carbon dating, dinosaurs, the millions of years of Earth
Was any Man around, at the Universe’s birth

The misuse of alcohol, drugs, or food, to fill a void
They cannot lead YOU to God, but a Life destroyed
Why are these called depressants, because they don’t lift YOU up
And they fail to help YOU realize, what your Life is close-up

We are to work for Our True Home, the Home of Righteousness
To Live Holy and Godly Lives, as We were told by Jesus
To look forward to the return of Our Lord and Savior
To share His Good News, is just a part of the answer

Idolatry is anything taking Our focus from God
If YOU have realized some instances, then I applaud
Now that YOU are aware, YOU have no excuse do YOU
Your eyes have been opened, the rest is up to YOU
