Day Seven
Six long days of toil and sweat
No work we shirk to draw our check
Swinging hammers, keeping house
Creating things and thinking
Talking, listening, counsel a spouse
Sing to keep a heart from sinking
Some are teachers, others preachers
Doctors and lawyers too
Entertain those in the bleachers
Or take care of critters at the zoo
A chef for foods, a shrink for moods
No single job is best
Yet big or small in common have all
The need for a day of rest
All days at the end of sevens
If we hope to be our best
Honor God who made the heavens
And blessed our day of rest
