Beta Reader Wanted

Postby Arpy » Sun Jan 20, 2013 9:25 am

Hello, FaithWriters!

I haven't been on here in a while, because I've been very busy writing this, that, and the other book. But I thought this might be a good place to come for interested beta readers.

I have 'finished' a novel, and it has been read by some of what I call 'alpha' readers, but they are all related to me and read it while it was in progress, so I would like some new perspective. I put finished in quotes because it is in need of quality revision, however the story (i hope) is complete and it is chapter-divided and so on.

I would be interested in a beta reader who is a young adult, as that is sort of the audience it is aimed towards, but anybody who knows what good writing is like will be very helpful. The story is in the romance/thriller/mystery genre and is approximately 80,000 words. It is a pretty fast read at the current stage. I would be eager to email correspond with anyone interested. If there is anyone out there who likes an exciting mystery with a touch of romance, you can private message me to get in touch.

Thanks in advance,

ARPY

Update:

This is the 'synopsis' of the story:

Ella Weatherly is a young contestant at a musical event in Roaldavia who dabbles in a mystery and finds it deeper than she thought. She discovers an anarchy plotted against the government that is almost unbelievable in its scope, but there is nobody who knows how to stop it -- except an enigmatical agent called the King of Hearts. When Ella herself is overcome by the rising anarchists, there is only one person left to hope in. Alone against his double and a powerful band of rebels, he must save an entire kingdom and face up to himself, while proving what Ella has known all along -- there are true heroes still, she just had to give them a chance.

We don't have a whole lot of young adults on this site, but hopefully you will find someone!

Yes, Sparrow -- I know there are a few, but I reiterate that anyone of any age would be helpful. Or maybe someone knows a young adult (child, friend) who likes to read but may not be a writer? Still hoping. :D
