Overwhelmed.....

Postby Chontae11 » Sat Jan 05, 2013 2:34 pm

Hi Everyone,

Well I have just joined FW and became a FW500 in hope to find information on how to write an effective article as I have been asked to write one for the Founder of a Children's School of Supernatural established in 28 different countries of the world. With that in mind I have zero writing skills and having searched this site I am very overwhelmed with the information and still have no starting point. So much to take in styles, grammar and all the rest of it that has gone over my head. I have no clue where to start very overwhelmed.

Anybody here that can help a sister out would be highly grateful

Blessings
Chontae

Welcomed to Faithwriters. The information you gave about the article is rather sketchy. Were you given, or do you have a specfic topic in mind?

I have to agree, more information would be helpful.

Length? Topic? What is the deadline?

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your reply....Sorry didn't think to add the topic lol.

The topic is around A Children s Evolutionary Movement New Age discovered in the late 80's which having been a Clairvoyant Psychic with my own business and also raised three of my children in this movement it is based on part of my testimony.

What the founder has asked is my experience in this movement, should the body of christ take this seriously and anything else that I would like to share on this. No word count and deadline is end of February.

Just needing a little help to write.

Thank you for your time guys and gals.

Hi, Chontae

I pray you're not offended, but I don't subscribe to anything related to clairvoyance or new age movements. It sounds as if you're asking for help to write an article that includes information from your past experience now that you've become a Christian. I think someone who has a similar testimony would be the best to ask for suggestions. It's difficult for me to give advice about writing on a subject I know nothing about.

All the best,

Lillian

I would recommend starting with just starting. As mentioned by Lillian, many of us don't have that experience that you have had (I'm assuming you no longer deal with any of this).

Just write from the heart, tell your story. Just get it down. Don't worry about the mechanics at all right now. Once you have a draft, find someone willing to read it - and I agree with Lillian, someone who has studied and it and is familiar with it would be best. Not someone still active in it, however.

Hi Lillian,

Why would I be offended I would certainly hope you don't subscribe to Clairvoyants, Psychics etc. Unless God has called you too of cause than I have no say for it would be for His purpose and will.

However the people that operate in such places are still Gods children whom He loves just the same as He loves us who are Saved and accept Jesus as our savior. We are called to be a beacon of light and salt to this earth which I have come to understand Love is the greatest light to shine in any dark place it is the greatest spiritual warfare weapon and will tear down any darkness in any realm.

My heart is to set those free who are held in bondage in such places having come from such a darkness, my prayer is also that the church rise up for too long have we contained the truth within the four walls of our churches. By truth I am not talking about teachings of truth for truth cannot be taught for it it a person named Jesus. For too long we have seen Jesus as figurative rather fully honoring and understanding the presence we carry, the literal presence of Jesus and it was not mean't for just the walls of church.

Anyway here I go something I am passionate about "All Gods Children" saved and unsaved.

Thank you for stopping by Lillian

Thank you Redbaron,

I appreciate your feedback and giving me a starting point. To bring clarity this article is for a Christian Children's School of Supernatural.

Advice taken.

Thank you Redbaron and Lillian

No problem, Chontae. I understand the need to reach out to the unsaved, but I wondered how your article, if written as they requested, would benefit an organization that seems (if I understand their name) to be involved in the New Age movement. Nonetheless, I think Shari's suggestion is a good place to start.

Let me just put my two cents in here and be done with it. I just couldn't let this one go. I am a Christian and all my life I have had dreams that came true, both good and bad. I mean to say dreams while I am sleeping and remember the dreams vividly when I wake up. I have never thought of myself as clairvoyant or psychic or anything supernatural. I don't know what it means, but it is true.

It just happens from time to time, and I just accept it as part of being the way God created me. :)

Welcome to Faithwriters, Chontae. You will learn a great deal about writing here. I started only a year ago and I couldn't write either. I still have a ways to go but I have learned so much here and am steadily improving, I think. Even got a few publications. Happy writing.

Hi Lillian,

Thank you for your reply....

May I ask why you think the organization is of New Age?

The reason this article is being written Lillian is because many Christians all over the world have emailed this founder asking her questions about it and like many Christians who stay clear of such dark places she knew nothing about of what New Age were training and developing children into. Although she has done some research well this is where I come in filling those gaps having raised my children in this movement. You see Lillian the enemy has not only hooked those in New Age but many families christian, non believers both in Christianity and New Age just the average family all being decieved. Again this is where I come in tearing down such a system i like to call a multi-colored coat.

I'm thinking of calling the title....

Top 10 Issues Every Christian Should Know About The Childrens Evolutionary Movement.

Something along those lines....any thoughts?

Hi, Lynn
I think you've introduced a different issue than the one I raised. Your experience is not unique, but rather universal among those to whom the Holy Spirit is operative in their lives. Just the other day, I was just about to leave for the bank when I heard a quiet inner voice reminding me that I had forgotten to bring the check. I could have driven twenty minutes before realizing it. And I could multiply that "inner voice" experience several times over.

So I am in agreement with you. However, I do not, as you do not, assign the promptings of the Holy Spirit to a New Age movement. Admittedly, I was a bit confused about the post; especially when the term, "Children s Evolutionary Movement New Age" was introduced. The name "Children's Christian School of Supernatural" clarified it somewhat.

Nevertheless, my original response still stands. Since I know nothing about the New Age movement, I could not give helpful advice as to how to craft the article.

Hi Lynn,

Still getting use to 'how to quote a post' hopefully have done it right lol.

Well thank you for your 2 cents loved reading it very worth it I might add. Thank you for the warm welcome I appreciate it very much. Wow congrats on getting published Lynn what an inspiration you are to me. Thank you.

Lynn let me put it to you like this;

To percieve ourselves as being similar in giftedness as a Clairvoyant or Psychic in my view would dishonor Gods Holy Gifts for they are far greater than those of this world who choose to mis-use them not just in New Age or other types of spiritualist but also within the church. But rather look at it as your intimate connection that God has chosen to speak to you and through you. A connection that is unique to you and made Holy. It sounds like you may have a gift in Discernment but this is something your leadership will be-able to pick up more as I have only just spoken to you once through a post and it would be your leadership that would know you more intimately so I suggest talking with them about it.

I too am gifted in dreams since my birth and I know how sometimes they can affect us because of the nature of them. Its always good to have a leader that you can talk to about these things because they will be-able to guide you in them and help you grow. Do have a leader that you speak to about your dreams?

Look forward to speaking with you around here Lynn

Thank you Lillian for your honesty I appreciate it very much. I expect to be persecuted and questioned thoroughly when writing this especially from my own brothers and sisters in Christ because lets be honest here if Jesus was put on the cross by his own people than I don't expect it to be any different for me. I would think there is something wrong if I wasn't being slandered, persecuted for that would mean I am not being a voice loud enough for Jesus.

Just quickly Lillian my question in the beginning was how to write an effective article I was not looking for someone who knew about the topic I was writing I expect there may not be many.

Thank you for your time have enjoyed speaking with you.
Much blessings

I own a copy of a book that discusses the New Age Movement and how it has infiltrated the Church. I believe it's titled The New Age Encyclopedia; it's in my storage and I haven't looked at it in awhile. But it can be shocking and scary just how things we take for granted or have accepted into Christianity are of demonic origin. A must-read for all believers. You might have to Google it.
