I did do that but computers hate me and have conspired against me to help pad the pockets of glass repairman and computer stores since I get frustrated and start chucking it out the window. Crafty critters these computers are.:-)

LOL, Poor Shann! I am so sorry. Bless your heart, if I had as much computer savy as you do, then I would have a site that wouldn't be causing you all this grief. I will see if any of my computer friends will help me out....all one of them! Soooooooooo Sorry, God bless your little heart anyways....

I had this huge long post just now and the computer ate it!

I thought I had outsmarted them by marrying a computer geek! He has saved his wretched machine as well as multiple windows. Though our interaction often goes like this:

What did you do to it?

Nothing! I didn't even touch it!
OR
It works fine for me!

Arrgghh! Conspiracy alert!!Image

My family has banned me from the room before because if I come out the computers start acting up but once I'm out of sight they work just fine.
Paranoid?! I heard that!Image

To prove my point I just tried to print something but the screen flashed Paper Jammed! I practicalyy stood on my head and opened all the openable parts of the printer and there is not one trace of a paper jam. It happened yesterday too and my daughter came over and did the exact same things I did and it worked. Then she had her father spent the next five minutes laughing at me. I'd say that the computer was laughing too but don't waNT TO SCARE YOU AWAY TOO (i did not hit the cap button it did it all on it's own!) Soon. Image

Shann,
Don't beat up on yourself or the computer - :nono2 - until you hear my confession.

I left out one very vital detail related to discovering Donna... I googled her name. :sofa

There, the secret's out... :D Where did you get those cute little "smilies."

I googled her too and like all kinds of variations of spelling her name! Oh and I found the smilies by googling computer smiley :-)

I once found a site called How Many of Me, and discovered there are five other people in America with my real first and last name--though there were a few spelling variations. I'm the oldest of them, and the only one on the West Coast. The others are in the Midwest and South, and are in their 30s and 40s. Interesting, to say the least.

Followed this thread and enjoyed the banter!
Did I ever share that years ago I actually threw one of our office printers out the office door, over the deck railing and into the parking lot? Then I ran and jumped in my truck and proceeded to run back and forth over it gleefully until I was absolutely certain it would no longer be the reason smoke was coming from my ears....need I say more
Thankfully it was a weekend but the residential neighbors received quite a show.

Hehehe I remember in high school one of the computers ate my entire yearbook page spread. I had just put the finishing touches on it, had saved a few minutes ago, and the "bomb" alert came up. We used Macs, so it's the Mac equivalent of the "blue screen of death." So I thought "Well, I saved not too long ago. I shouldn't have lost much..." and I reopened it and it was just the blank page. As in not even the template was there anymore! So then I thought maybe it was just that computer. Nope. It had saved it that way on the server! Thankfully, I had a three day old version that I had not put on the server. So I lost three class periods worth of work on it, but not the entire thing. But it still wasn't fun. lol Anyway, I came back to visit my yearbook teacher (still do on occasion, actually) and pointed to the computer and said "That's the computer that ate my yearbook spread!" and he said "Oh yes. I remember that day well. I believe you hit your head on the desk for a full five minutes." I told him that when he got rid of the computers, he needed to invite all the yearbook alumni back and we could all help push it off the roof of the school.

Oh man I love that story!

When my son was 2 he and his friend "were napping" when I received a call from the neighbor across the street saying two little boys were throwing toys out of the window. A lot of them landed on the porch roof, and I wasn't steady enough to climb out and get them so when my husband came home and saw them, he almost kept diving because he thought I'd had a fit.

Now Donna, aren't you glad you came back? :clown
