Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Gee, I get a couple of senior moments and forget to ask---- :P I'm at home using C.J.'s hotspot, and just posted a prayer request about my roommate Lisa. She's a California native, but you'd think she was from the West Indies, 'cause she's Jamaican me crazy. No joke. Short story, she got us i...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Yesterday at the library I had problems with the library Wi-Fi. I just couldn't get on. Very frustrating. I would've told the librarian, but last time I did that, they weren't very helpful for a problem with my computer. Got a fix from the manufacturer's community forum that did work. I'm at work us...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

In that case I don't qualify; I've been a church janitor for 5 years, been on deferment or forbearance for the maximum allowable time for each, and am currently on an income deferred plan. Maybe I missed something in the fine print--why do they always have to have fine print?--but recently they said...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Lately, some of my food has been disappearing. Most recently, a small peach pie and a tub of bbq beef have gone missing. Lisa says she strongly suspects C.J. and Diane are to blame. But for the last 4 1/2 years they've always asked permission before taking anything of mine. Lisa doesn't eat beef, an...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

This just in: The newest Duchess of Cambridge is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. And the movie I was referencing? "Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte."

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Actually, that should be Charlotte, not Catherine. Now they're saying Alice and Charlotte are in the top running. But maybe William and Kate will surprise everyone and give the princess a name nobody's expecting.

If they name her Charlotte, will they let her see a certain Bette Davis movie?

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Speaking of babies--Prince William and Kate Middleton had their daughter this morning, 8 lb., 3 oz., name yet to be determined, but bettors have Catherine, Alice, Elizabeth and Diana as possibilities.

Oh, and I went to a baby shower today.

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Pup, it's a two-story house, with basement, and one half was built in 1912 as a dental office; the half we live in was added on later, maybe late 1930s-early 1940s. We've been having issues with those who rent the other half, as well as with a couple of roommates, so I'm beginning to think part of t...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

By the way, some of you may remember that a few weeks ago I had a bit of drama over a missing washcloth. Yesterday, as I was searching one of my underbed boxes for a pencil--had several in a 1970s vintage pencil case/calculator--the calculator doesn't really work anymore--what should I find but my o...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Weird Al Yankovic has a song and music video called "Word Crimes" which is in the vein of modern misuse of language and spelling.

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Pup, I hate to say this, but what you've described is what is known as "real life". But I agree the landlord should've kept you in the loop. Sometimes things do come up. C.J. and Diane are back in the house and being best buds again. We were going to have a house meeting, then this morning C.J. said...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

I'm not sure I would call my life "interesting" unless I was being polite. I could sure do without the drama--as well as the noise of mariachis, traffic, idiots with their bass cranked up especially while playing highly objectionable "music", and sirens. I could also do without competition for the b...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Last Saturday, I came home from the library to be told C.J. was in a foul mood. She herself told me that it had nothing to do with me, but just keep everything neat, the way she always tells us. Well, around 1:30 a.m., C.J. and Diane got into a huge screamfest. Finally, C.J. went outside and stayed i...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Okay, went through the cleaning cloths and picked out what I believe to be my old washcloth. Maybe I should put my name on it. I have my name on both my towels, so to prevent this in the future..... Thursday Pastor Brian rented a scissors lift so he could replace the light bulbs in the parking lot--...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

You know what? It's probably in among the cleaning cloths, and I somehow forgot what it exactly looked like. It's green, and there are a couple other cleaning cloths that are green also. I'm going to have to have a closer look.....
