Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Yeah I think I might change the jam making from winter to fall and then have the candle making as a winter thing. But I don't know what to do for spring. I don't want them planting anything or doing anything that has to do with a green thump and garden because the mother is a florist and she is alw...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

I am still here Shann, just having a hard time right now.Asked my manager about the time off, and he said I will have to wait until winter when things are slow enough. I just dont get it. It is ok for for the "Other" night worker to take off two seperate weeks in the summer, but I have to wait unti...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Okay, the avatar is still a work-in-progress  I'm looking for something unique and original, kind of the way my family says my mind works...(only not so nicely, heehee). The critique group sounds great, Amy. I'd been thinking of trying (please note, the 'trying' part) to set my writing aside o...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Joanna, so glad the interview went well! And yeah, I just ignored the offer of doing a tarot reading for my book. At the ones I went to the reader went off in a corner or in another room to do that, so I just avoided that area and it wasn't made into a big deal. And yes, FW and NaNo are what got me...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Joanna, I wonder if I met you at one of the NaNo gatherings in Vancouver last year? That would be funny. I went to the kick off at the pizza place... trying to remember what else I went to... Two years ago I went to a few more events. Can't remember what I did last year. We were in the middle of a ...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Hi-ya, Amy...cool nickname, sparrow. Hear you live in Vancouver too. About Nanowrimo I did nano in '08 and, kinda, '09...long story but life interferred...haven't 'won' yet (hit 50000 mark in the month of November). At the time I was in Centralia, WA and they have a great group of Nano writers there...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Hi, Shann. On the grocery thing...I went to bed last night, 11:19. Thought I was falling asleep...then a scenario started flooding my mind. I got up, wrote it. It is a 'lyrical' prose type of thing. Went back to bed. five minutes later had to get up to write two sentences on an index card. back to s...

Re: Writing Group in Vancouver, Washington

I know Amy (Sparrow) lives down that way and she might be game. She might also know of other Faithwriters who could be interested as well. Thank you. I just found some pacific coast folks in the Water Cooler(pacific coast rest stop). Perhaps some of them will be from Vancouver. So far I haven't fig...

Re: Pacific Coast Rest-Stop

Okay, so I posted asking if anyone was in Vancouver Washington that wanted to do the whole 'writing group' thing...and then I found this forum. So hello :D . My writing has mainly been on faithwriters, so not a vastly experienced writer here (as in me). As I am not currently working--can't find a jo...

Writing Group in Vancouver, Washington

Thinking of starting a Christian writing group in Vancouver (not a critique group), anyone interested? Or, if you already know of one to recommend, let me know? :-)

Sincerely,
Joanna

Deb Porter wrote:Hi Joanna.

I think you'll be safe to enter as a new author for the time being. There's quite a backlog of books to be published, so enter the contest.

Love, Deb

Thank you. :-)

Re: Rights and The Challenge

Maybe this question is already under another topic, and if so, I apologize in advance. I am wondering what the circulation for the faithwriters books are (the books that are compiled of "the Challenge" entries). I'm looking at entering a contest and there is a circulation ceiling in order to be cons...

Is "hubpages" a worthwhile endeavor?

Today, I saw an add in a local paper for blogging articles...I am completely ignorant of what is legit and worth the time...and I admit it :-).

Has anyone heard of hubpages and may advise?
